DPR Member Requests Police to Investigate the Mystery of the Death of Sutrimo Karumga, Former Jampidsus

Member of Commission III of the DPR Bimantoro Wiyono asked the Metro Jaya Police to move quickly and transparently in investigating the mystery of the death of Sutrimo, Head of the Household (Karumga) of the former Jampidsus of the Attorney General's Office Febrie Adriansyah.

He emphasized that the late handling of this case, which has captured the public's attention, will only fuel speculation and curb public confidence in law enforcement.

"I ask the Polda Metro Jaya to move quickly and investigate thoroughly. Don't let this case float. If there is indeed no criminal element, announce it publicly based on scientific evidence," said Bimantoro as reported by ANTARA, Monday, July 27.

If there are indications of a criminal act, he asks the police to immediately drag the perpetrator to the legal process without compromise. Moreover, he said, what needs to be considered is the condition of the victim when he died with foaming mouth and nose.

"This happens a lot in cases of murder with poison," he said.

Bimantoro reminded that the slow handling of the law is the biggest gap in the emergence of wild assumptions or speculations in the community.

"The investigation must be comprehensive, objective, and the results must be honestly disclosed to the public in accordance with legal facts," he said.

Therefore, Bimantoro also demanded law enforcement officers to maintain high professionalism and not work under the pressure of any party. On the other hand, he also appealed to the public to continue to closely monitor the legal process.

"Respect the legal process, but remember, the law should not be allowed to take its place. We urge the police to provide certainty and justice as soon as possible, both for the victims' families and the public," he said.

Previously, the Polda Metro Jaya was still investigating information and collecting evidence related to the alleged unnatural death of a man named Sutrimo which occurred at a clinic in South Jakarta on Thursday (23/7).

Head of Public Relations of the Metro Jaya Police, Kombes Pol Budi Hermanto stated that the police moved quickly to respond to information circulating in the mass media and social media regarding the incident.

"Polda Metro Jaya will certainly investigate any information, especially related to the loss of someone's life. Whether it is natural or unnatural, this is still being investigated," he said when met in Jakarta, Monday.
