Iran Will Not Allow US to Determine Time of War and Peace

JAKARTA - Spokesperson for the Iranian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Esmaeil Baqaei, emphasized that Iran would not allow the United States to determine when war or peace would take place.

"We will not allow the United States to determine the time of war and peace," Baqaei said, quoted by ANTARA from Anadolu, Monday, July 27.

He also said the United States was stuck in a quagmire it had created after five months.

On Sunday, Iran's military spokesman, Amir Mohammad Akraminia, said the United States had stopped its attacks for the previous two nights and Iran's "retaliatory operations" had also been halted.

According to a report by Axios on Saturday, US President Donald Trump has ordered the US military not to launch any new attacks against Iran, thus ending nearly two weeks of daily attacks.

Tensions between the US and Iran have escalated in recent weeks, with Washington launching an attack on Iran and Tehran responding by targeting what it calls US military facilities and equipment in a number of countries in the region.
