Lawe Kinga-Simpang Seberang Rampung Road, Farmers in Southeast Aceh Easier to Transport Crops
JAKARTA - The road to agricultural land in East Aceh Regency, Aceh Province, is now easier to pass after the Ministry of Public Works (PU) completed handling the Lawe Kinga-Simpang Seberang Road along 4.8 kilometers.
The infrastructure built through Presidential Instruction (Inpres) Number 11 of 2025 concerning the Acceleration of Improvement of Regional Road Connectivity has begun to be felt by farmers.
One of them was felt by Yasin, a resident of Lawe Serke Village, Lawe Sigala-gala District.
Yasin admitted that access to the garden, which was previously difficult to pass through, is now more comfortable and safe, making it easier for people to transport their crops.
"We from Lawe Serke Village thank President Prabowo and the PU Ministry for this IJD project, we can be comfortable to go to the fields to pick our crops. And hopefully in the future, the IJD project that will come will be beneficial for the people of Indonesia," he said as quoted from a written statement, Monday, July 27.
Minister PU Dody Hanggodo said the Regional Road Inpres (IJD) program was designed to strengthen regional connectivity while supporting the self-sufficiency targets for food and energy.
According to him, road construction not only facilitates community mobility, but also cuts the cost of distributing agricultural products.
"Through this Regional Road Inpres Program, the government ensures that the food supply chain runs smoothly from upstream to downstream and directly connects the production center area to consumption markets in a much more efficient and sustainable way," said Dody.
"The impact will be felt immediately on the ground, the time taken for distribution will be shorter, the cost of logistics transportation can be suppressed and the risk of crop damage during the journey can be minimized," he continued.
In accordance with the direction of President Prabowo Subianto, the development of regional roads must now also pay attention to geometric aspects, so that two wheel vehicles that cross can pass safely.
Overall, the Aceh Provincial Road Inpres Program has handled 33 roads spread across 19 regencies/cities with a total length of 118.73 kilometers.
All work is focused on preserving and improving the road structure using a more solid upper and lower foundation and a 6-centimeter-thick asphalt concrete surface layer (Asphalt Concrete-Wearing Course/AC-WC) to increase road durability.
In addition to the Lawe Kinga-Simpang Seberang Road in Southeast Aceh, the program also targets a number of other strategic areas, such as the Blang Seubel-Badegong Road in Simeulue Regency to support the distribution of agricultural products in the archipelago.
Then, the Tanoh Manyang-Seumira Section II Road in Aceh Jaya Regency to facilitate access to local production centers as well as two road sections totaling 13.6 kilometers in Aceh Besar Regency as a support for the connectivity of the economic buffer area.
Through the improvement of the quality of the regional road, the government hopes that farmers' access to agricultural land and markets will be more efficient, so that they can increase productivity while strengthening the food supply chain in Aceh.
