Develop the Rejang Lebong Regent Case, the KPK Starts Investigating Alleged Bribery in the Bengkulu City Government
JAKARTA - The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) has begun investigating alleged bribes in the Bengkulu City Government (Pemkot). This investigation is an expansion of the bribery allegations that ensnared Rejang Lebong Regent M. Fikri Thobari.
KPK spokesman Budi Prasetyo said the investigation was carried out by issuing a new investigation order (sprindik). However, there are no suspects in the policy.
"From the investigation in Rejang Lebong, evidence was obtained that the regent was also suspected of receiving money from other private parties outside the private parties in the main case," said Budi, quoted on Monday, July 27.
"It is these other private parties who are then suspected of having similar practices in the Bengkulu City Government," continued Budi.
Budi said investigators had conducted searches in the Bengkulu City area. "That is at the office and home of private parties that are engaged in the field of health equipment and waste management, as well as the Kadis PUPR Bengkulu City Government's house," he said.
There is evidence that was brought by investigators during the forced attempt. Including, Rp4 billion from the Bengkulu PUPR Regional Secretary's house.
"In this series of searches, investigators secured evidence in the form of documents, electronic evidence and cash in the form of rupiah worth more than Rp4 billion," said Budi.
"All the evidence was then confiscated and will be analyzed by investigators," said Budi.
"This search is to find additional evidence needed in the development of the investigation of the case, including related to the alleged receipt of gifts or promises by state organizers in the Bengkulu City Government environment," he explained.
As previously reported, the alleged bribery of Rejang Lebong Regent Muhammad Fikri was revealed through the Operation Catch Hand (OTT). He was named a suspect along with four people, namely Harry Eko Purnomo as Head of the PUPRPKP Office, Irsyad Satria Budiman as a private party of PT Statika Mitra Sarana, Edi Manggala as a private party from CV Manggala Utama, and Youki Yusdiantoro as a private party from CV Alpagker Abadi.
Fikri is suspected of asking for a fee or ijon of around 10-15 percent of the value of the work project in Rejang Lebong Regency to the private sector. The money was allegedly used for Eid needs, including Eid Allowance.
The three private parties who are partners in the project at the PUPRPKP Office are Irsyad Satria Budiman as the private party of PT Statika Mitra Sarana, Edi Manggala as the private party of CV Manggala Utama, and Youki Yusdiantoro as the private party of CV Alpagker Abadi.
After that, it is suspected that there was an initial transfer of fees in the form of money from the three partners. The total reached Rp. 980 million.
Edi Manggala handed over Rp330 million or 3.4 percent of the value of the pedestrian and drainage development project and the sports center, which amounted to Rp9.8 million. Irsyad Satria Budiman handed over Rp400 million or 13.3 percent of the value of the road work project worth Rp3 billion.
Youki Yusdianto handed over Rp250 million or 2.3 percent of the value of the project to arrange the building and the environment of the football stadium area worth Rp11 billion.
Muhammad Fikri and Harry Eko Purnomo as the recipients are suspected of committing corruption and violating Article 12 letter a or letter b and/or 12 B of Law No. 31/1999 jo. Law No. 20/2001 concerning the eradication of corruption. 20 letter c of Law No. 1/2023 concerning the Criminal Code.
Irsyad Satria Budiman, Edi Manggala, and Youki Yusdiantoro as the parties to the giver are suspected of committing corruption and violating Article 605 paragraph (1) or Article 606 paragraph (1) of Law No. 1/2023 concerning the Criminal Code jo. Law No. 1/2026 concerning Criminal Adjustment.
