Apple Recruits Former BMW Executive To Work On Electric Car Projects
JAKARTA – The technology giant from the United States, Apple does not seem to be playing around in realizing its ambition to work on electric cars. This is evident from the recruitment of former executive BMW car manufacturer, Ulrich Kanz. Apple appointed Kanz for its electric car project.
This information was reported by CNBC International on Friday, June 11. The recruitment of Kanz to be part of the Apple Car project will strengthen Apple's ambitions in the production of future electric cars.
However, Apple did not reveal whether Kanz was actually part of the Apple Car design team or not. Because the project is part of a special Apple project, they call it the Special Projects Group.
Although Apple did not explain in more detail, this shows evidence of the company's seriousness because Ulrich Kanz is a person who has rich experience in the field of electric car production.
Cited from Bloomberg, previously, Ulrich Kanz was one of the founders of electric car manufacturer Canoo. Meanwhile, at BMW, Kanz only leads the electric car development program. There he succeeded in presenting the i3 electric vehicle and the i8 hybrid sports electric car.

Despite being rejected for some reason, Apple did not give up. They have recruited former Tesla executive, Doug Field in 2018. At Tesla, Field was one of the key figures in the creation of the Tesla Model 3 electric car.
Apparently, Apple is very ambitious to enter the automotive field. The iPhone manufacturer is not yet known when it will start producing electric cars.
