Bordeaux in France Threatened to Be Burned by the Red Knight, His Walkot Ogah Evacuated Residents

JAKARTA - The city of Bordeaux in southwestern France is threatened by the red dragon. Forest fires in the area of the city's neighboring UNESCO World Heritage Site are getting worse and spreading quickly.

"We are very vigilant. We are ready for anything," Bordeaux Mayor (Walkot) Thomas Cazenave told reporters at the location of the evacuation of victims of forest fires, Sunday, July 26, quoted from AFP.

Cazenave added that the potential for the fire to spread to the south is currently high. However, he admitted that he still has no plans to evacuate his 270,000 citizens.

"The fire is still on the outskirts of the metropolitan area, but it has not spread to the west side of the metropolitan area," he claimed.

He explained that the fire broke out between 25-30 kilometers from Bordeaux and about 15 kilometers from the metropolitan area near the town of Martignas-sur-Jalle.

Firefighters continue to fight to keep the flames from spreading to Bordeaux, which is located in the heart of the world-famous wine-producing region.

Although Bordeaux residents have not been evacuated, authorities have brought thousands of people from villages near the city to safe locations and away from forest fires.

The trigger for the forest fire is said to be accidental, starting from a fire that appeared in Saumos Village on Wednesday, July 22, which then made officers evacuate 220,000 of their citizens. The process of rescuing these residents became one of the largest evacuation operations in French history.
