Ten Chinese Construction Workers Arrested by Jakut Immigration Officers

JAKARTA - A total of 10 construction workers who are Chinese Nationals (WN) were arrested by officers from the Immigration Office of Class I TPI North Jakarta.

They were arrested while working on a construction project in the Pluit Karang Sari Housing Area, Penjaringan, North Jakarta.

"The ten foreign nationals were caught working as laborers. They only have a visit visa in Indonesia," said Head of the North Jakarta Immigration Office, Rendra Mauliansyah, when confirmed, Saturday, July 25, 2026.

He said the Chinese nationals with initials WY, ZZ and BX entered Indonesia using a C2 Visit Visa.

They were working as construction workers with the task of doing iron assembly work, and pillars on buildings,

Meanwhile, Chinese nationals with initials ZZ, XW, LH, ZH, ZY, LJ and JP entered Indonesian territory using a Visit Visa (C2).

They are working as construction workers with the task of cutting wood and iron for the main frame of the building.

"The ten Chinese citizens have violated Article 122 of Law Number 6 of 2011 concerning Immigration, namely foreigners who intentionally abuse or carry out activities that are not in accordance with the purpose and objectives of the residence permit granted to them," he said.
