US Continues Procurement of Patriot Missiles

JAKARTA - For the first time in more than 30 years, the United States Army will resume procuring previous generation missiles for the Patriot air defense system.

RTX (formerly Raytheon) CEO Christopher Calio said the company had received orders worth nearly $20 billion during the second quarter of fiscal year 2026.

"This order includes more than five billion US dollars (about Rp89.7 trillion) for the GEM-T Patriot effector, requested by international customers, and our first domestic GEM-T production order in more than 30 years," Calio said, as quoted by TWZ reported by ANTARA from Sputnik, Friday, July 24.

According to TWZ, the order comes amid ongoing concerns over supplies of US high-performance air defense interceptors, which have been depleted during conflicts in the Middle East.
