Pramono Speeds Up Rehabilitation of 4 Damaged Schools with a Budget of IDR 249 Billion including SDN Kebayoran Lama Selatan 09

JAKARTA - DKI Jakarta Governor Pramono Anung emphasized that he would accelerate the rehabilitation of four school buildings that were considered the most urgent to be built this year.

One of them is SDN Kebayoran Lama Selatan 09 which collapsed since November 2024 and has become a public spotlight because it has not been repaired.

"In the meeting I decided that there were four that I asked to be built right away. Among them is this place. Why should it be built right away? Because the condition is very worrying," said Pramono after reviewing the condition of the SDN Kebayoran Lama Selatan 09 building, South Jakarta, Friday, July 24.

Pramono admitted that initially the DKI Provincial Government planned to rehabilitate 22 schools in the preparation of the budget. However, because Jakarta experienced a cut in revenue sharing funds (DBH) from the central government, the DKI Provincial Government only allocated funding for the rehabilitation of 7 schools in the 2026 and 2027 APBD.

"Why did this happen? Because there are cuts in DBH, efficiency, and so on. So from 22, only seven will be immediately built," he said.

Then, after holding a meeting with the Education Office after the viral fate of the SDN Kebayoran Lama Selatan 09 building, Pramono decided that the four schools with the most severe level of damage were prioritized for immediate rehabilitation through a joint funding scheme.

"Yesterday in the meeting I decided that there were four that I asked to be built right away. Among them is this place. Why should it be built right away? Because the condition is already very worrying," said Pramono.

The four schools are SDN Kebayoran Lama Selatan 09 with a budget of Rp. 48.1 billion, SMA Negeri 102 Jakarta with Rp. 67.5 billion, SDN Cempaka Putih Barat 03 worth Rp. 48.4 billion, and SDN Papango 01 and TKN Papango 01 which received a budget of Rp. 74.1 billion. The total budget prepared reached around Rp. 249 billion.

Overall, the budget needs to handle the four schools are estimated to reach around Rp. 249 billion. The budget includes construction work, construction consultancy services, and transport and warehouse rental services.

According to Pramono, rehabilitation cannot start immediately because the government must first complete the administrative stages, including the write-off of assets of damaged buildings. The project funding was also decided to come from a combination of building floor coefficients (KLB) and APBD changes.

Pramono emphasized that the construction process would be closely monitored so that the quality of work would not repeat the same problems. For this reason, the DKI Provincial Government will involve the Cipta Karya, Spatial and Land Management (Citata) and the Road Construction Agency in the technical supervision of the project.

"Tomorrow it will be tightened again, a technical team will be appointed, who will supervise, and so on. Because I don't want the development that is being tried not to be easy, then for example it is not worked on seriously," said Pramono.

"I ask that in this case, the decision is made, appointed to build people who are indeed professional for that," he continued.

Meanwhile, for SDN Kebayoran Lama Selatan 09 and SDN Kebayoran Lama Selatan 11 which are in the same area, the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government has prepared a layout through a regrouping scheme.

Pramono ensured that the rehabilitation of SDN Kebayoran Lama Selatan 09, which collapsed since November 2024, would begin to be carried out by September 2026 at the latest.

"This rehabilitation will start at the latest in September. The latest September must start immediately. So August is the preparation for write-off, appointing the contractor, and in September it must be started to be built here," said Pramono.

Pramono said the rehabilitation of the school was budgeted at Rp. 48.1 billion. The work is targeted to last 10 months, so that the building cannot be used when the 2027 new school year begins.
