Perta Arun Gas Makes Indonesia The Largest Re-Export Loading Market of LNG in the World

JAKARTA - PT Perta Arun Gas (PAG) supports Indonesia to achieve the first rank as the Largest Re-Export Loading Market LNG or Largest Re-Export Loading Market LNG in the world. This achievement is officially recorded in the International Gas Union (IGU) World LNG Report 2026 annual report which was uploaded through its official website in early July 2026.

Based on the data in the report, Indonesia is ranked 1st in the world with an LNG loading volume of 0.85 million tons or taking a world market share of 17.3 percent.

It is the Arun Terminal operated by PAG, an affiliate of the Pertamina Gas Subholding which has contributed greatly to bringing Indonesia ahead of other major countries.

PAG President Director, Yan Syukharial, stated that this achievement was achieved in line with the establishment of the LNG Hub business as one of PAG's backbone businesses.

"Terminal Arun has the status of the first and only LNG Bonded Logistics Center (PLB) in Indonesia and has grown into a new LNG Hub in the Asian region," he said, Friday, July 24.

Previously in August 2022, through IHS Markit, one of the largest international institutions providing data, research, and business analysis of energy, PAG was also named the world's most active LNG reloading terminal. The company's commitment to continue to be a superior, careful, experienced operator in operating refineries, as well as upholding the culture of Health, Safety, Security & Environment (HSSE) to create a safe working environment is an important pillar of achievement.

The strategic location of the operational area in the Special Economic Zone (KEK) Arun Lhokseumawe, Aceh can facilitate the receipt and distribution of LNG supplies globally. PAG, according to Yan, continues to be committed to supporting national energy security through the management of reliable, safe, and sustainable LNG infrastructure.

"At the same time, it will increase Indonesia's competitiveness in the global LNG market," he said.

During the 2025 period, PAG has carried out 49 operational activities consisting of 27 unloading activities, 11 reloading activities, and 11 Gassing Up & Cooling Down (GUCD) activities. The unloading realization reached 1,499,085.17 m³ with a total energy of 34,806,990 Million Metric British Thermal Units (MMBTU), reloading reached 1,162,429.49 m³ with an energy of 27,016,005 MMBTU, and GUCD reached 176,847.75 m³ with an energy of 4,107,643 MMBTU.

Throughout 2025, PAG managed to earn revenue of USD 105 million. The company, which is only 13 years old, also recorded a net profit of USD 25.1 million.

"This performance also proves that the company's efforts to sustainably increase company growth positively in the midst of existing challenges," said Yan.

This extraordinary achievement, according to Yan, was achieved due to the many strategic advantages possessed by the company. In addition to being the only LNG terminal operator in Indonesia, the location of the Arun Terminal which is close to the LNG market in Southeast Asia and South Asia is also a plus.
