Sirens Sound in Bahrain After Iran Claims to Attack US Military Assets in the Arab Country

Two waves of siren sounds were heard in Bahrain just as Iran claimed responsibility for targeted attacks on US assets in several Arab countries.

The Ministry of the Interior of Bahrain urged residents to remain calm after the alarm sounded twice, as conveyed through a post on the X platform.

Citing CNN, Friday, July 24, the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) of Iran targeted three ammunition and equipment storage facilities at Al-Adairi Base, Kuwait, according to the semi-official Tasnim news agency. The IRGC also targeted the control tower of the US Fifth Fleet in Bahrain, reported Tasnim.

Tehran also directed the drones to the Sheikh Isa Air Base in Bahrain and the Al-Azraq Air Base in Jordan, according to Iran's Press TV.

Just a day earlier, Kuwait's air defense system also intercepted a wave of "missile and drone attacks" by Iran, according to the Kuwaiti military.

Tehran has stepped up attacks on US allies in the region after Washington launched a new offensive against Iran in mid-July.

Several countries targeted by Iran's attacks - including Kuwait, Bahrain and Jordan - are home to US military bases.
