US Attacks IRGC Navy Headquarters in Northern Iran
JAKARTA - The headquarters of the Iranian Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) Navy in the northern Iranian province of Gilan has been confirmed as a target of a US attack.
"This morning, the IRGC Navy headquarters in Zibakenar was attacked by the US enemy, causing damage to the equipment inside the complex," said security official in Gilan, Ali Bagheri, as quoted by the Mehr news agency.
"Local authorities will investigate the attack," he said, adding that there were no casualties in the US attack.
On June 18, 2026, Tehran and Washington signed a peace memorandum to stop the conflict that broke out on February 28. However, US forces launched an attack on Iran again starting July 8.
The US Central Command argued that the attack was carried out in response to Iran's actions against merchant ships crossing the Strait of Hormuz.
Iranian forces also responded to the US attack by launching a retaliatory attack on US military bases in the Middle East.
President Trump then said the ceasefire agreement between the US and Iran was no longer in effect.
