Regional Development Continues, Dasco-Cucun Receives APKASI Dialogue

JAKARTA - Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives Sufmi Dasco Ahmad and Cucun Ahmad Syamsurijal received and held a dialogue with the management of the Association of All Indonesian Regency Governments (APKASI) in the Leadership Room, Nusantara III Building, Senayan Parliament Complex, Jakarta, Friday, July 24.

This meeting was also attended by the Chairman of the APKASI Bursah Zarnubi along with the board of directors and a number of regencies from various provinces. Various inputs and aspirations were conveyed directly by the regencies to the leadership of the DPR RI, ranging from regional government governance to support for accelerating development in their respective regions.

One of the main issues that emerged in the dialogue was the budget efficiency policy which recently triggered a debate among the public. In response to this, the DPR RI conveyed its understanding of the dynamics, as well as reaffirmed its commitment to work hand in hand with the government to formulate the best solutions for the development and progress of regions throughout Indonesia.

Cucun Ahmad Syamsurijal said that the DPR RI opened the widest possible space for APKASI and all Regents to convey aspirations.

"We in the DPR RI are present to hear the voices of the Regents directly. The aspirations of APKASI today are an important input for us to continue to encourage budget policies that are in favor of accelerating regional development," said Cucun.

Dasco added that the results of today's dialogue will be material for the DPR RI to continue to coordinate with the central government, so that the direction of budget efficiency policies remains in line with the needs of regional development.

Meanwhile, the Chairman of the APKASI Bursah Zarnubi appreciated the dialogue space provided by the leadership of the House of Representatives of the Republic of Indonesia, while emphasizing the importance of synergy between the center and the regions in the midst of current fiscal challenges.

"We appreciate the space for dialogue provided by the leadership of the DPR RI today. APKASI hopes that the budget efficiency policy in the future will still give space for regions to maintain the quality of basic services for the community, ranging from education, health, to infrastructure," said Bursah.

Through this meeting, the DPR RI reiterated its commitment to continue to synergize with the government and all Regents, to present optimal budget policies and support the development and progress of regions throughout Indonesia.

Also present at the meeting were Dr. H. Arief Rohman (Blora Regent), Radityo Egi Pratama (South Lampung Regent), Joune J.E. Ganda (North Minahasa Regent), Bursah Zarnubi (Lahat Regent), Dr. H. M. Dadang Supriatna (Bandung Regent), Witiarso Utomo (Jepara Regent), H. Ischak Maulana Rohman (Tegal Regent), Jon Firman Pandu (Solok Regent), and Ella Nuryamah (East Lampung Regent), along with other APKASI managers.
