The bodies of the couple victims of the KKB shooting in Yahukimo were evacuated.
JAKARTA - The Head of the Yahukimo Police, AKBP Zet Saalino, said that the combined TNI-Polri had evacuated two of the three bodies of victims of the KKB shooting on the Trans Papua road, Seradala District, Yahukimo Regency, Papua Mountains, Monday (20/7).
"The bodies of the couple (husband-wife couple) are currently at Dekai Hospital and will be handed over to the family for burial," said Yahukimo Police Chief AKBP Zet Saalino as reported by ANTARA, Thursday, July 23.
The evacuation, he said, was difficult to carry out because at this time the Brazza River has a fast water condition, while to reach the crime scene you have to cross the area.
However, according to him, the joint team on Friday (24/7) will return to search for the other victim, a woman, to be evacuated.
The victims, according to Zet Saalino, were local residents who were doing pendulancing around the Seradala District.
"Although it has been preached that civilians should not do gold panning, there are still people who are looking for and collecting gold," said Yahukimo Police Chief AKBP Zet Saalino.
The KKB, led by Kopi Tua Heluka, previously stated that it had shot three civilians around the Trans Papua road, Seradala District, Yahukimo Regency.
