National Children's Day, Starting From Us, We Launch a Companion Book

JAKARTA - The social movement Mulai Dari Kita launched a children's story book entitled Anak Jagoan and Pasukan Kemo Rangers as part of commemorating National Children's Day 2026. The book is designed as a psychosocial companion for children with cancer.

The book launch was held on Thursday, July 23, 2026, at the tvOne Studio, The Convergence Indonesia, Jakarta. The event featured a storytelling session by Wiwin Windrati from Di Antara Arah Project and a discussion with child psychologist Gisella Tani Pratiwi, M.Psi., Psychologist, health worker, organization supporting children with cancer, and media people.

The book, which was initiated by Aninditha Anestya Bakrie or Ditha Bakrie and written by Ilham Fahmi, was presented to help children with cancer understand the journey of treatment through warm, imaginative, and hopeful stories.

The book is available through a pre-order program. All profits from the sale of the book will be donated to help children with cancer from families in need.

Ditha hopes that every purchase of a book will be part of an effort to bring hope to children who are fighting against cancer. He wants every page in this book to bring a smile, grow courage, and be an encouragement for children and families who accompany them.

Anak Jagoan and the Kemo Rangers team were born from the belief that the healing process for children does not only depend on medical treatment, but emotional support is also considered important to help children feel calmer, braver, and not alone when undergoing each stage of therapy.

In this book, children are invited to understand what is happening in their bodies in simple and easy-to-understand language through the characters of Hero Kids, Super Cells, Kemo Rangers, and the antagonist character Kangkoro.

Metaphorical approaches are used in the story so that children can view the treatment process as a journey full of enthusiasm, not something to be feared.

This book is also compiled with the assistance of a child psychologist. The goal is that each story can help children recognize emotions, reduce anxiety about medical actions, prevent the emergence of self-blame, and build confidence during treatment.

The story approach was chosen so that children can understand the disease they are facing without losing the world of play and imagination that is an important part of childhood.

Gisella said that stories play an important role in helping children face the treatment process. He said that stories are much more effective in helping children understand their world.

"Children understand the world through stories. When they can understand what is going on in their bodies in a safe way and according to their developmental stage, fear will decrease and they will feel in control of the process they are going through. Psychosocial support like this is an important part of the overall healing process," he explained.

The launch series was also filled with discussion sessions, question and answer sessions with the media, and the symbolic handover of books. This activity is a form of commitment to expand access to psychosocial companion media for children fighting cancer in Indonesia.
