Two People in Iran's Khuzestan Killed in US Attack

JAKARTA - Iranian media reported US attacks in the country's south and west, including at the border with Iraq.

The report comes after the US military said it launched attacks on Iranian military and maritime targets, air defense systems, and missile storage facilities and unmanned aerial vehicles (drones).

Two people were killed and 11 others were injured in an incident that provincial officials in Khuzestan called a missile attack on the Shalamcheh crossing, the official Islamic Republic News Agency (IRNA) news agency reported, citing CNN, Thursday, July 23.

Still in Khuzestan province - which borders Iraq and the Persian Gulf - the areas of the suburbs of Andimeshk and Ahvaz, as well as the asphalt storage warehouse in Ramshir, were also targeted by the US attack, according to IRNA reports and the state broadcaster IRIB.

Attacks were also reported on the outskirts of Eslamabad-e Gharb, in Kermanshah province, western Iran.

IRNA also reported attacks on the port city of Bushehr, which is located near Iran's only operating commercial nuclear power plant reactor.

In the coastal province of Hormozgan, southern Iran, explosions were reported in the Sirik and Jask regions.
