Awal Manis Indonesia National Volleyball Team in the Second Round of the 2026 SEA V Cup

JAKARTA - A sweet start was achieved by the Indonesian Men's Volleyball Team when playing the first match in the second round of the 2026 SEA V Cup against Cambodia in front of their own public.

Reidel Toiran's squad successfully defeated the opponent with a score of 3-0 (26-24, 25-15, and 25-18) at the Jakarta International Velodrome, Rawamangun, East Jakarta, on Wednesday, July 22, 2026, WIB evening.

Reidel Toiran after the match gave appreciation for the performance of his students who were able to maintain focus and get out of pressure, especially in the first set.

"The kids played very focused tonight, especially at the critical points of the first set when Cambodia gave a fierce resistance. The key to our victory is consistency in attack variation and communication that improves from set to set," said Toiran in a statement.

Reidel immediately lowered the best composition since the beginning of the match. Farhan Halim, Alvin Daniel, Hendra Kurniawan, Fauzan Nibras, Putra Bagus, Luvi Febrian, and libero Rakha Abhinaya were trusted to fill the Indonesian player line-up from the first minute.

Indonesia immediately took the initiative of the attack in the first set. However, Cambodia gave a fierce resistance and was able to catch up to tie the score at 18-18. The competition became tighter until the score was 24-24.

In this critical situation, Farhan Halim and his friends' calmness became the difference. Indonesia finally secured the first set with a narrow victory of 26-24.

Then in the second set, Cambodia was still able to put pressure on the beginning of the game. However, Indonesia slowly found the rhythm and began to dominate the course of the match.

Farhan Halim stood out with sharp attacks combined with effective ball distribution. Indonesia's game became more dominant until finally closing the second set with a landslide score of 25-15.

The competition was again tight at the start of the third set. Both teams exchanged attacks before Indonesia began to pull away and lead 17-12.

Cambodia tried to narrow the gap through P Sarun and Veasna. However, Indonesia was still able to maintain the lead until leading 22-15. The Garuda squad then secured victory after winning the third set with a score of 25-18.

Reidel said they still had a number of homework to face the next match even though they managed to secure a landslide victory in their debut appearance.

"There are still some evaluations, especially regarding vigilance at the beginning of the set so as not to be easily caught up. This is a good capital to look at the next matches in this second round," said Reidel.

Indonesia will then play the second match of Group A against the Philippines on Friday, July 24, 2026. Farhan Halim and his colleagues are favored to win and qualify for the semifinals with a perfect score.
