US Ends Attacks on Iran for 12 Consecutive Nights

JAKARTA - The United States Central Command (CENTCOM) said it had completed a new series of attacks on Iranian military targets, Wednesday night (22/7), marking the 12th consecutive night of military aggression against Iran.

"At 22:30 US Eastern Time (09:30 WIB) on July 22, CENTCOM forces have completed a new attack on Iran for the 12th consecutive night," according to the statement, quoted by ANTARA from Anadolu, Thursday, July 23.

CENTCOM explained that the various attacks targeted Iran's maritime capabilities, missile and drone storage facilities, various coastal surveillance posts, and a number of air defense assets.

"These attacks further degrade Iran's ability to attack civilian sailors and commercial vessels," CENTCOM said.

The US military said it had targeted dozens of Iranian military sites across Iran this July, while re-imposing a naval blockade on the country.

CENTCOM said US forces had diverted the routes of nine commercial vessels and disabled one vessel in an effort to prevent the vessels from entering or leaving ports in Iran.

More than 50,000 US military personnel, CENTCOM continued, are still stationed throughout the Middle East region and are in a state of extreme vigilance, focus, lethality, and readiness.

The US has launched new attacks in various regions of Iran since last week, which were then retaliated by Iran with attacks targeting US military facilities and bases in several countries in the region.

The fighting has continued despite the two having signed a framework agreement with Pakistani mediation in June to end the war that began in February and pave the way for a lasting peace deal.
