Government records digital tax revenue until June 2026 reaches Rp54.71 trillion
JAKARTA - The Directorate General of Taxes (DJP) of the Ministry of Finance (Kemenkeu) recorded that as of June 30, 2026, the government recorded revenue from the digital economy business sector of IDR 54.71 trillion.
Director of Extension, Services, and Public Relations Inge Diana Rismawanti said the amount came from the collection of Value Added Tax (PPN) Trade Through Electronic System (PMSE) of Rp42.01 trillion, tax on crypto assets of Rp2.09 trillion, tax on fintech (peer-to-peer lending) Rp5.1 trillion, and taxes collected by other parties through the Government Procurement Information System (Tax SIPP) Rp5.51 trillion.
Inge emphasized that the largest contribution to the revenue still came from the PMSE VAT and by the end of June 2026, the Directorate General of Taxes (DJP) had appointed 271 PMSE actors as PMSE VAT collectors.
"In June 2026, the DJP will again adjust the list of PPN PMSE collectors through the change of one collector data, namely Lemon Squeezy LLC," he said in his statement, Thursday, July 23.
Inge explained that as of June 30, 2026, a total of 236 PMSE had collected and deposited the PMSE VAT with a total of IDR 42.01 trillion.
He added that the amount consisted of a deposit of Rp731.4 billion in 2020, Rp3.9 trillion in 2021, Rp5.51 trillion in 2022, Rp6.76 trillion in 2023, Rp8.44 trillion in 2024, Rp10.32 trillion in 2025, and Rp6.34 trillion in 2026.
Apart from PMSE, the digital economy tax revenue also comes from cryptocurrency asset transactions, namely until June 2026, cryptocurrency tax revenue has reached IDR 2.09 trillion.
Inge said that the revenue came from Rp246.54 billion in 2022, Rp220.89 billion in 2023, Rp620.38 billion in 2024, Rp796.74 billion in 2025, and Rp205 billion in 2026.
"The receipt of cryptocurrency taxes consists of PPh Article 22 of IDR 1.21 trillion and Domestic VAT of IDR 881.82 billion," he said.
Meanwhile, Inge said that the revenue from fintech taxes had reached IDR 5.1 trillion as of June 2026.
He explained that the revenue came from Rp446.39 billion in 2022, Rp1.11 trillion in 2023, Rp1.48 trillion in 2024, Rp1.37 trillion in 2025, and Rp695.84 billion in 2026.
According to him, the fintech tax consists of Income Tax Article 23 on interest on loans received by domestic taxpayers and fixed business forms of IDR 1.42 trillion, Income Tax Article 26 on interest on loans received by foreign taxpayers of IDR 727.99 billion, and Domestic VAT of IDR 2.95 trillion.
Inge said that other digital economy tax receipts came from the SIPP Tax which had reached Rp5.51 trillion as of June 2026.
He explained that the amount came from Rp402.38 billion in 2022, Rp1.12 trillion in 2023, Rp1.33 trillion in 2024, Rp1.23 trillion in 2025, and Rp1.44 trillion in 2026.
Meanwhile, the receipt of SIPP Tax consists of PPh Article 22 of IDR 402.52 billion and VAT of IDR 5.11 trillion.
"We hope that the increasing compliance of digital business actors can support state revenue while creating a tax system that is equal for all business models, both conventional and digital," he said.
