Iran Threatens US Allies in the Dark Gulf if Power Plant is Bombed

JAKARTA - The commander of the Air Force of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) Seyed Majid Mousavi asserted that Washington's allies in the region would be plunged into darkness if the United States (US) attacked power plants and bridges in Iran.

"If our bridges and power plants are attacked, the interruption of electricity in allied countries (the US) will be inevitable," Mousavi said, quoted by Sputnik.

The statement was made in response to US President Donald Trump who threatened to destroy one bridge or power plant in Iran for every ship attacked by Iran in the Strait of Hormuz.

Meanwhile, the Khatam Al-Anbiya Iranian Central Command said that if the US threat to Iranian infrastructure was actually carried out, Tehran would do more than just block oil exports in the region.

Iran will also attack oil, gas, economic, and power plant infrastructure throughout the Middle East.

"The repeated threats from the US criminals and their military will only expand the war in the region and wider," the agency said in a statement broadcast on Iranian state television.

On June 18, 2026, Tehran and Washington signed a peace memorandum to stop the conflict that broke out on February 28. However, US forces launched an attack on Iran again starting July 8.

The US Central Command argued that the attack was carried out in response to Iran's actions against merchant ships crossing the Strait of Hormuz.

Iranian forces also responded to the US attack by launching a retaliatory attack on US military bases in the Middle East.

President Trump then said the ceasefire agreement between the US and Iran was no longer in effect.
