Samsung Opens Pre-Order Galaxy Z Flip 8, Prices Start at Rp. 21 Million
JAKARTA - Samsung officially opened the pre-order period for the Galaxy Z Flip 8 after the device was introduced at the launch event on July 22, 2026. Although pre-orders have started, the clamshell-style folding phone will only be available on the market on August 7, 2026.
The Galaxy Z Flip 8 comes in two storage capacity options, namely 256GB and 512GB. Both are equipped with 12GB RAM without 16GB RAM or 1TB storage options.
The 256GB variant is marketed at a price starting at US$1,199.99 or around Rp21.7 million (exchange rate assumption of Rp18,100 per US dollar). Meanwhile, the 512GB model is priced at US$1,399.99 or around Rp25.3 million.
Samsung also presents an exclusive Mint color that is only available through Samsung's official store. The color is between a light blue and a soft green. Consumers who buy through other retailers can choose Pink, Graphite, and Cream.
In the United States, the Galaxy Z Flip 8 is available through almost all major mobile operators. However, Samsung said the device was not available through Verizon at launch.
In terms of specifications, the Galaxy Z Flip 8 carries a 6.9-inch folding main screen and a 4.1-inch cover screen. The device is powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 for Galaxy chipset, which is designed to provide performance improvements on Samsung's premium devices.
The phone is also equipped with a 4,300 mAh battery with 25W fast charging support via cable and 15W wireless charging.
The Galaxy Z Flip 8 is the most affordable model in Samsung's latest Galaxy Z Series family announced this year. However, the device still carries flagship-class specifications in a compact folding design.
Samsung gives consumers about two weeks to pre-order before the first shipment begins on August 7, 2026. Until now, the company has not announced the official schedule and price of the Galaxy Z Flip 8 for the Indonesian market.
