This is FIFA's Best Team for the 2026 World Cup, with Spain and France dominating
FIFA announced the Team of the Tournament or the Best Team of the 2026 World Cup after the tournament held in Canada, Mexico, and the United States.
The Spanish and French world champions are the countries with the most representatives in the top eleven players, each contributing three players.
The best team used a 4-3-3 formation and was filled with players from six different countries as a reward for their impressive performance throughout the tournament.
One of the biggest surprises came in the goalkeeper position. FIFA chose Vozinha from Cape Verde, beating Spain's goalkeeper Unai Simon, even though Simon led La Roja to win the 2026 World Cup and won the Golden Glove award.
The 40-year-old goalkeeper stole the show after helping Cape Verde hold Spain to a goalless draw in the opening game.

Vozinha closed the tournament with 18 saves, the eighth-highest number among all goalkeepers. Meanwhile, Paraguay goalkeeper Orlando Gill was the busiest with a record 28 saves.
On the defensive line, FIFA chose Pedro Porro and Marc Cucurella from Spain, Dayot Upamecano from France, and Lisandro Martínez from Argentina.
Porro and Cucurella are an important part of Spain's backline, which has conceded only one goal throughout the competition.
However, the decision sparked debate because Spain's central defender Aymeric Laporte and Pau Cubarsi were not on the list, even though they performed solidly throughout the tournament, even though Cubarsi was named the 2026 World Cup Best Young Player.
Lisandro Martinez himself appeared in seven of Argentina's eight matches before the final injury. As for Upamecano, he is a key pillar of France who only conceded two goals until reaching the semi-final.
In the midfield, FIFA placed Rodri, Jude Bellingham, and Michael Olise. Rodri was crowned the winner of the Golden Ball thanks to his role in leading Spain to world champion.
Meanwhile, Olise recorded seven assists, only one from the record of French legend Raymond Kopa who has been around since 1958.
Bellingham has been on fire with seven goals, which has put him in third place in the race for the Golden Boot.
For the attacking sector, the three names chosen are Kylian Mbappe, Lionel Messi, and Erling Haaland.
Mbappe became the winner of the Golden Boot after scoring 10 goals and contributing four assists, and also recorded a record as the top scorer of all time with 22 goals from three editions.
Messi, who is 39, also continued to show his quality by leading Argentina to the World Cup final for the third time in the last four editions.
The captain of the Albiceleste, as reported by Antara, ended the tournament with eight goals and four assists. Meanwhile, Haaland completed the trident of the front line after scoring seven goals with Norway throughout the 2026 World Cup.
