Iran's Response to Trump's Threats Will Not Be Limited
JAKARTA - Tehran's response to a possible US attack on Iranian nuclear facilities will not be limited. US interests and its allies in the region will be on Iran's target list.
US President Donald Trump earlier said any location in Iran that Washington deemed to be linked to Tehran's nuclear program would be the target of a major attack.
"The response after any new attack on Iranian nuclear facilities will not be limited. On the contrary, such an attack will escalate the conflict in such a way that the US and any other party that supports it will bear significant costs," an Iranian military source told RIA Novosti.
If the US implements its threat, all facilities representing US interests, bases, and military assets in the region, as well as the interests of its allies who take any hostile action against Iran, will be on Tehran's target list, the source said.
On the eve of June 18, Tehran and Washington signed a memorandum to guarantee the end of the conflict that began on February 28.
However, since July 8, US forces have carried out a series of attacks on Iran. The US Central Command claims the attacks are in response to Iranian actions against merchant vessels crossing the Strait of Hormuz.
Iranian forces then retaliated by attacking US bases in the Middle East. US President Donald Trump then said that the ceasefire between the US and Iran was no longer in effect.
