LAN Will Train State-Owned Enterprise Employees, Their Tasks Are No Longer Limited to ASN
JAKARTA - The State Administration Agency or LAN will get a new task to train state-owned enterprise employees. So far, the agency has been dealing more with the education and training of state civil servants.
The expansion of duties is part of the establishment of the Republic of Indonesia University or URI and the National Education Management Agency.
URI Governor Marshal TNI (Ret.) Donny Ermawan Taufanto said LAN would be integrated into the education system prepared by the government to produce future government and SOEs leaders.
"If until now we have carried out special training for ASN, we will add it to BUMN," said Donny at the Presidential Palace Complex, Jakarta, Wednesday, July 22.
According to Donny, the National Education Management Agency will oversee three institutions. The three are the management body of flagship schools, the management body of universities, and LAN.
Donny said LAN would continue to carry out existing duties, but its authority and functions would be strengthened. Training of state-owned enterprise employees is one of the main additions.
The program has actually started. A total of 399 new state-owned enterprise employees are now participating in the Presidential Program for Future Leaders or P3MD which opened on May 20.
Participants are trained in managerial skills, character, integrity, national insight, and leadership.
Donny said the URI program was not automatically a mandatory requirement for promotion. However, participants who follow it will get added value in career development.
"This is a credit point for participants who attend this activity," he said.
He emphasized that the program was not mandatory because the opportunity to attend education was limited. Participants still have the option to pursue education at URI or other institutions.
The government has also prepared educational pathways from Garuda Flagship Schools, universities, to training for government and SOEs employees.
