Changan prepares 15 new cars in Indonesia and more than 100 dealers

Changan confirms its commitment to strengthen its presence in the Indonesian automotive market through a long-term strategy. This includes the launch of dozens of new models, expansion of dealer networks, to increasing the level of local content.

The Chinese manufacturer is targeting massive expansion in the next few years to meet demand for environmentally friendly vehicles in the country. Director of Sales Changan Auto Southeast Asia, Sebastien Li, said the company has prepared a fairly aggressive product development roadmap.

In the next three years, Changan will introduce a total of 15 new models for Indonesian consumers. "In the next three years, we will introduce 15 new models," said Sebastien Li at the launch of Deepal S05 at Park Hyatt, Central Jakarta, Tuesday, July 21.

Currently, Changan Indonesia has marketed three models, namely Lumin, Deepal S07, and Deepal S05. The presence of dozens of new models is expected to expand the market reach while presenting a more diverse choice of electrified vehicles in various segments.

"Bringing customers a wider network and new energy vehicles for every segment," he continued.

In the future, Changan plans to introduce vehicles with various electrification technologies, ranging from Battery Electric Vehicles (BEV), Hybrid Electric Vehicles (HEV), Plug-in Hybrid Electric Vehicles (PHEV), to Range-Extended Electric Vehicles (REEV). However, the company has not yet revealed the launch schedule or specifications of each model that will be marketed in Indonesia.

In addition to expanding the product portfolio, Changan is also focusing on strengthening after-sales services and distribution networks. Currently, the company has 23 official dealers spread across various regions of Indonesia and is targeting gradual expansion in the coming years.

"Our sales and service networks will continue to grow. In 2030 we plan to operate more than 100 national dealer networks," said Sebastien.

As part of its long-term strategy in Indonesia, Changan is also committed to increasing the level of local content in vehicles marketed through cooperation with partners in the country. "In addition to developing dealers, we will also accelerate localization with our partners," he concluded.
