Qodari Emphasizes the Sitting Position of the Cabinet Session Is Not Related to Gibran's Position

Head of the Government Communication Agency (Bakom) Muhammad Qodari emphasized that the layout of the Plenary Cabinet Meeting was designed to support the effectiveness of the delivery of President Prabowo Subianto's directions, not related to the position of Vice President Gibran Rakabuming Raka.

"The sitting position at the plenary Cabinet Meeting follows the format of the President's briefing to all members of the cabinet meeting, not the format of the meeting which places the President and Vice President side by side," Qodari said in a statement on Wednesday, July 22.

He explained that the format of the cabinet meeting this time was arranged as a briefing by the President to all members of the Plenary Cabinet Meeting.

Therefore, the layout of the room was made so that all participants could see the President clearly and at the same time make it easier for the President to make eye contact when giving directions.

According to Qodari, the seating arrangement is not related to the position or constitutional authority of the Vice President. In this format, the Vice President is present as a participant in the Plenary Cabinet Meeting with cabinet members.

He said that the arrangement was made to support the smooth delivery of the President's instructions considering the number of participants attending the hearing was quite a lot.

Qodari also denied the assumption that the sitting position reflected a change in the Vice President's position.

"The seating arrangement is purely a technical event. There is no change in position or reduction in the constitutional role of the Vice President," said Qodari.
