Ministry of Creative Economy Focuses on People's Welfare for Economic Growth
JAKARTA - The Ministry of Creative Economy accelerates the implementation of strategic programs in the second semester of 2026 based on the people's economy, economic justice, and welfare that is directly felt by the community inclusively to strengthen the structure of the national economy.
Minister of Trade Teuku Riefky Harsya said this commitment was a response to the President's direction regarding the strengthening of the economy with the principle of kinship and in an effort to support the achievement of the Red and White Cabinet that has been achieved during the first two years.
"The Ministry of Creative Economy always presents programs that provide opportunities for collaboration, consolidation, and acceleration to ensure that the creative economy grows and is felt directly by the community as the new engine of growth. We will make the most of every program so that it emits the energy of creativity that continues to provide real benefits for the creative ecosystem in Indonesia," said Minister of Creative Economy Teuku Riefky Harsya in a statement received, Wednesday.
Following up on the strategic direction, Minister Riefky stated his institution's readiness to spur three flagship programs, namely the Activation of Creative Villages, the Activation of Creative Hubs, and Creative by Indonesia. These programs will be strengthened through government assistance facilitation and institutional strengthening at the regional level.
The Ministry of Industry's optimism is supported by data from the Central Statistics Agency (BPS) which recorded the impressive performance of the creative economy sector. As of March 2026, exports of the creative economy contributed 11.8 percent to the total national non-oil and gas exports, with investment realization reaching Rp. 61.33 trillion.
This achievement is a new driving force in creating jobs and increasing Gross Domestic Product (GDP).
"The success of creative economic governance in Indonesia is not measured by the many events or programs that are held, but by the achievement of real changes that can be felt by ekraf activists. In the future, we will continue to focus on programs on the welfare of the people, strengthen synergies, and ensure that every step taken is always oriented towards impact," added Riefky.
Previously, the mid-2026 plenary Cabinet meeting with the Red and White Cabinet ranks was held to evaluate the performance and a number of challenges that have been resolved. Some of the achievements of the Red and White Cabinet include self-sufficiency in 8 food commodities, the establishment of the Inter-Sovereign Fund, 1,000 of 5,000 village bridges were built, 4 Garuda Excellent Schools were opened, 250 BUMN restructurings were closed, and many things have been achieved in the first two years of the Red and White Cabinet.
