Five Years of the Kaltara Provincial Government Disbursed Rp79.36 Billion to Build the Krayan Ring Road

TANJUNG SELOR - The North Kalimantan Provincial Government (Pemprov) continues to accelerate the development of infrastructure in the border area. In the last five years, the Provincial Government has allocated Rp. 79.36 billion for handling the Krayan Ring Road to improve community connectivity in the hinterland of Nunukan Regency.

Head of the Public Works, Spatial Planning, Housing and Residential Area Service (DPUPR-Perkim) of Kaltara, Helmi said that construction in border areas, especially Krayan, continued to progress gradually according to budget capacity.

"Even the handling that has been carried out gradually has been carried out for the past few years," said Helmi, Tuesday (21/7/2026).

He explained that in 2021 the government allocated Rp. 30.51 billion. The budget was used to improve the Long Bawan-Lembudud border road section through the DAK Assignment worth Rp. 20.54 billion, as well as routine maintenance of the Long Bawan-Lembudud-Long Layu section of Rp. 5.18 billion and the Long Layu-Pa Upan-Long Rungan-Long Padi-Binuang section of Rp. 4.79 billion.

"Then in 2022, the Provincial Government will again allocate Rp. 15 billion to continue the construction of the Long Bawan-Lembudud section, handling emergency landslides in the South Krayan District, and routine maintenance of the Krayan Ring Road on a number of sections," explained Helmi.

"Furthermore, in 2023, a budget of Rp5 billion will be allocated for the maintenance of the Krayan Ring Road, Long Bawan-Long Layu section," he continued.

Helmi revealed that in the 2024 fiscal year, the handling value increased to Rp. 22.35 billion. The funds were used for handling the long segment of the Krayan Ring Road Segment I and II, the construction of the Pa Betung-Pa Pani-Border section, the maintenance of the Long Umung-Pa Raye road and bridge, and the continued maintenance of the Krayan Ring Road.

Then in 2025, the Provincial Government will allocate Rp. 6.5 billion for routine maintenance of the Krayan Ring Road Segment II and handling the long segment of the Long Bawan-Lembudud-Long Layu roads," he said.

Helmi said that in 2025 the Provincial Government had programmed a number of road development activities in border areas, especially in the South Krayan and Krayan Induk Districts with a value of around Rp. 30 billion sourced from the General Allocation Fund (DAU) for infrastructure and Special Allocation Fund (DAK).

"In 2025 we have programmed several road development activities on the border, especially the South Krayan and Induk Districts, with a total of approximately Rp30 billion through the DAU infrastructure sector worth Rp160 billion and DAK of Rp40 billion. But then it was cut by the central government so that the activity was lost," he concluded.
