KPK has the opportunity to open an investigation into the Singapore Dollar envelope for Minister of Forestry Raja Juli

JAKARTA - The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) has hinted that it will develop the provision of an envelope containing Singapore dollars by the non-active Regent of Kuantan Singingi (Kuansing) Suhardiman Amby to the Minister of Forestry Raja Juli Antoni. This step is open as long as there is new evidence and facts in the ongoing investigation.

"In the field of enforcement, this is still progressing. Investigators are still investigating, calling a number of witnesses to ask for information, especially to complete additional evidence yes to the parties who have been designated as suspects," said KPK spokesman Budi Prasetyo to reporters at the KPK Red and White building, Kuningan Persada, South Jakarta, quoted Tuesday, July 21.

"However, it is certainly possible that later there will be other facts that are then correlated or open the possibility for development," he continued.

Currently, said Budi, investigators are also sharpening the suspicion of the provision of an envelope from Suhardiman Amby to the Secretary General of the Indonesian Solidarity Party (PSI).

Suhardiman Amby is suspected of receiving another cut from the Sisa Hasil Usaha (SHU) of 914 members of the Prima Sehati Village Unit Cooperative (KUD). The money was collected and used to handle the release of the Limited Production Forest (HPT) area at the Ministry of Forestry.

Based on the initial findings of investigators, the money from the SHU cut was exchanged for Singapore dollars before being handed over to Menhut Raja Juli during the hearing.

"So from the incident of being caught yesterday, the suspicion is that the money collected was then converted into Singapore dollars and then put in an envelope and given to Mr. Menhut," he said.

The sharpening was carried out by summoning a number of witnesses. "We will first investigate the motive for the initiative to collect it, then later the motive for the initiative taken by the Regent to give an envelope to Mr. Menhut, this is the motive for the initiative from whom, for what," said Budi.

As previously reported, the KPK rejected the report submitted by the Minister of Forestry (Menhut) Raja Juli Antoni regarding the rejection of the envelope submitted by the non-active Regent of Kuantan Singingi (Kuansing) Suhardiman Amby. This step was taken after the KPK's Gratification and Public Services Directorate conducted a verification.

This rejection is based on Article 14 of the Corruption Eradication Commission (Perkom) Regulation Number 1 of 2026. In the policy, it is noted that gratification reports cannot be followed up if they are related to the investigation, investigation, or prosecution of criminal acts by law enforcement officials; and/or are suspected of being related to criminal acts.

Meanwhile, Raja Juli said that the Regent of Kuansing Suhardiman Amby had left a sealed envelope after an audience at the Ministry of Forestry on June 2, 2026. This confession was made after the KPK held a hand-in-hand operation (OTT) at the beginning of last month.

Raja Juli then ordered his aide to return the envelope on June 5, 2026. However, the plan was delayed because his aide had to accompany him in the agenda of the service.

To follow up, the Secretary General of the Ministry of Forestry issued a task letter to his aide on June 11, 2026. In addition, Raja Juli admitted that he contacted the Riau Police Chief to help bring his aide and the Regent of Kuansing together.

The return of the envelope, he claimed, was made on June 12, 2026 at the Kuantan Singingi Police. The process was also accompanied by documentation and a receipt.
