KPK has named a suspect after OTT West Lombok Regent

JAKARTA - The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) has named a suspect after carrying out a hand-in-hand operation (OTT) which also secured West Lombok Regent Lalu Ahmad Zaini on Monday, July 20. This determination was made through a forum for the title of the case or exposure.

"Regarding the closed investigation activities in the West Lombok Regency area, last night an exposure was carried out and it was decided that this case would be investigated," said KPK spokesperson Budi Prasetyo through his written statement, Tuesday, July 21.

Even so, Budi has not detailed the parties who have been named as suspects. He said the official announcement would be made through a press conference.

Meanwhile, Lalu Ahmad Zaini and six other people are still undergoing an examination at the KPK's Merah Putih building.

"The parties who are currently undergoing examination at the KPK Red and White Building are a number of seven people who were brought from Lombok, namely the Regent together with the Managing Director of PT Air Minum Giri Menang Lombok Barat, Head of the PUPRPKP Office, one private party, and three people as adc and driver of the regent," explained Budi.

Then, the anti-corruption commission again secured a private party in the Jakarta area. Thus, a total of eight people are still undergoing examination.

"This case is suspected to be related to conflicts of interest in procurement, project bribes, as well as other receipts or gratuities in the West Lombok Regency Government environment," said Budi.

"In full, how the construction of the case, the chronology of the events caught on hand, evidence, and the parties who were designated as suspects, we will convey in a press conference this afternoon."

In this hand-to-hand event, the team in the field also found evidence. In addition to documents, there was money with rupiah denominations that were also secured.
