Adhisty Zara Tells the Story of Filming the Film Rumah Singgah While Facing an Elderly Who Was Treated in the ICU
JAKARTA - Young actress Adhisty Zara shared an emotional story she experienced during the filming process of her latest film. Playing the role of Karla, a runner who has to fight against a disease in a shelter, Zara admitted that the filming process this time was one of the hardest moments in her career.
Not only because of the demands of the role that drains tears, Zara also has to face the bitter reality of her personal life in the film Rumah Singgah.
While the shooting was taking place in Bandung, the beloved grandfather was in critical condition and was being treated in the ICU.
"When I heard the question, I was immediately nervous. Honestly, this filming process was arguably very difficult for me," said Zara when met in the Jakarta area recently.
Zara revealed that whenever there was a schedule for filming, he did not use it to rest, but to accompany his grandfather in the hospital. Mixed feelings enveloped his days on the set.
"It just so happens that we were shooting in Bandung, and at that time my grandfather was in the ICU. God, every day off I get time to spend more time with Kiyang in the ICU at that time," he recalled with a bitter tone.
At the peak, Zara's sadness deepened when her grandfather breathed his last on the last day he completed the shooting process.
Living the emotional character of Karla made the boundary between acting and reality for Zara blurred. He admitted that he often had trouble holding back tears because the situation he was experiencing was very related to his personal condition at that time.
However, the most surprising thing is when Zara has to perform a happy scene. For him, smiling in front of the camera when his heart is broken is an incredible challenge.
"The most challenging thing for me was the happy scene, it was really to the heart (it was heavy). There are several scenes that cry until they have to be comforted by other friends. Even though this is a sad movie, we have to bring it with a smile. That's the hardest thing," explained the former JKT48 member.
Karla's Character Strengthens Even though he had to shoot in a state of grief and full of pressure, Zara felt that the character of Karla that he played gave him a little strength. Karla is portrayed as a strong athlete even though he has to face the bitter reality as a patient at the Shelter House.
"Karla is a very strong child. At first it was heavy, but then I met my friends, so there was hope. So yes, his feelings are mixed, gloomy-gloomy must be there every day," he concluded.
