Minister of Foreign Affairs Sugiono: Optimizing the Utilization of IC-CEPA is the Key to Translating a More Concrete Economic Partnership

JAKARTA - Indonesian Minister of Foreign Affairs Sugiono said that optimizing the utilization of the Indonesia-Chile Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement (IC-CEPA) is the key to translating the economic partnership between the two countries.

The Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Indonesia said this when receiving a bilateral visit from the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Chile Francisco Pérez Mackenna at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Indonesia, Jakarta, Monday (20/7).

During the meeting, the two countries agreed to strengthen the partnership by deepening economic cooperation, as well as closer collaboration in international forums.

Chile is a potential partner for Indonesia in cooperation in the critical mineral sector. As fellow major producers of world mineral commodities, Indonesia and Chile have great opportunities to build collaboration in the development of downstream industries that are oriented towards the creation of added value, strengthening global supply chains, and the implementation of sustainable and environmentally friendly practices. This cooperation is expected to be able to support the economic transformation of the two countries.

"Optimizing the utilization of the Indonesia-Chile Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement (IC-CEPA) by business actors is the key to translating the two countries' economic partnership more concretely," said Indonesian Foreign Minister Sugiono, launching the Indonesian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Tuesday (21/7).

The optimization is expected to expand mutually beneficial business opportunities for both countries.
