Prabowo: PT DSI Manage Foreign Exchange 10.5 Billion Dollars in Six Weeks

JAKARTA - President Prabowo Subianto claims that PT Danantara Sumber Daya Indonesia has managed foreign exchange worth 10.5 billion US dollars in just about six weeks since it began operating in full.

Prabowo said PT DSI was formed to improve the governance of the export of natural resource commodities and to reduce state revenue leakage.

"Only one month and two weeks working, PT DSI has managed 10.5 billion dollars in foreign exchange," said Prabowo in the Plenary Cabinet Meeting at the State Palace, Jakarta, Monday, July 20.

PT DSI was announced on May 20, 2026 and began full operations on July 1, 2026. The company is a state instrument for recording export volumes, actual prices, and foreign exchange inflows from the sale of strategic commodities.

Commodities that are under surveillance include nickel, coal, gold, rubber, and palm oil.

According to Prabowo, before PT DSI operated, there was a large difference between the reported commodity prices in Indonesia and the selling price in the international market. The difference is said to be at least 30 percent and close to 40 percent.

He gave an example of the price of crude palm oil or CPO. The export price from Indonesia is said to be in the range of IDR 14,000 to IDR 15,000 per kilogram, while the price in the international market can reach IDR 27,000.

"Who enjoys Rp. 13,000? Almost 50 percent," he said.

Prabowo suspects that the price difference arises because the transaction is changed during the trade journey. As a result, Indonesia loses most of the true value of the commodities exported.

After PT DSI operated, the price gap began to narrow.

The government targets the one-stop export system to be fully implemented on September 1, 2026. The period before full implementation is used for the transition and adjustment of business actors.

Prabowo emphasized that companies that continue to manipulate reports or do not follow the new governance will lose their business licenses.

"Whoever continues this practice, all permits will be revoked," he said.
