Palace Denies Minister PU Removed in Early August

JAKARTA - The palace denied the news that President Prabowo Subianto would overhaul the cabinet and remove the Minister of Public Works in early August. The government stated that there were no plans for a reshuffle.

The objection was conveyed by the Minister of State Secretary Prasetyo Hadi at the Presidential Palace Complex, Jakarta, Monday (20/7).

"There is no issue of reshuffle. There is none, there is none. There is no issue of reshuffle," said Prasetyo.

He did not provide further explanation regarding the origin of the news. Prasetyo also did not mention any special evaluation of the Minister of Public Works.

The statement was made after President Prabowo chaired the Plenary Cabinet Meeting which was attended by all ministers, deputy ministers, heads of agencies, as well as a number of heads of state institutions.

The trial evaluates the implementation of government programs and various obstacles in the field. According to Prasetyo, the evaluation is carried out for almost all fields, but the focus of discussion can change according to developments.

Although the cabinet meeting discussed the government's performance, the Palace emphasized that the agenda was not related to the plan to replace ministers.

Prasetyo also responded to the emergence of a shadow cabinet formed by a number of civil society groups. According to Prasetyo, the government will study every input as long as it is presented constructively.

"All who have good intentions, all who want to give good input, of course we accept and always thank you. The important thing is that the spirit is constructive," he said.
