Gerindra Hopes Hotman Paris Does Not Bring Prabowo's Name in the Febrie Adriansyah Case

JAKARTA - Gerindra Party spokesperson, Bahtra Banong, responded to the statement of Hotman Paris Hutapea's lawyer who questioned the appointment of the former Jampidsus, Febrie Adriansyah without the knowledge of President Prabowo Subianto.

According to Gerindra, the legal process that is currently underway against Febrie does not need Prabowo's approval.

"This is an ongoing investigation, yes, and I think the Minister of Law and Human Rights said that for the investigation I think there is no need for what it is called, approval or to the President, because the legal process is ongoing. Therefore, we from Gerindra hope that this legal process will run," said Bahtra at the DPR building, Senayan, Jakarta, Monday, July 20.

"And then we trust the law enforcement because it has also been handed over to the Attorney General's Office from the Police, yes, we hope that the process will be more open and this legal process will run according to what the President hopes," he continued.

Bahtra assessed that the public should appreciate the government of President Prabowo because Indonesia's law enforcement is now getting better, and is running in accordance with the rules of the mechanism.

"And hopefully this case can be what it is, in the open. And of course the law enforcement we must also give confidence to continue to

"We will carry out this process openly and transparently," he said.

Bahtra also responded to Hotman's statement that he called Febrie a pride of Prabowo. He hopes that President Prabowo's name will not be dragged into this case.

"Our hope is that Bang Hotman, let's let Bang Hotman concentrate and then accompany the legal process that is currently running against his client, yes, I don't think the President should be brought to that direction, because every time

"The President conveyed his clear hope that law enforcement must run according to the applicable mechanisms and rules," he said.

The Deputy Chairman of Commission II of the DPR hopes that law enforcement officers will not be selective in handling this case.

"Yes, I think the President often says yes, God willing, in his administration, the name of the law enforcement process continues to run well and transparently and of course we hope that any legal process, whatever it is, God willing, it will also be better in the future," said Bahtra.

Previously, lawyer Hotman Paris Hutapea considered that the establishment of the suspect of the former Jampidsus Febrie Adriansyah must be with the consent of President Prabowo Subianto. This was conveyed by Hotman during a press conference at the Attorney General's Office, Friday, July 17, after accompanying his client's examination.

Hotman said President Prabowo did not know about the determination of the suspect. He explained that Febrie was Jampidsus who was proud of Prabowo. Because Febrie as the Head of the PKH Task Force can return state losses of up to Rp. 430 trillion.
