Head-on Collision on MT Haryono Involving a Box Car and a Motorcycle, 4 People Injured
JAKARTA - A series of accidents involving a box car and a number of motorbikes occurred on MT Haryono Street, Pancoran, South Jakarta, this morning. Four people were injured in the incident, with one female victim suffering serious injuries to her legs.
Head of the DKI Jakarta Transportation Office Budi Awaludin admitted that he was not far from the location when the accident occurred. When he was about to attend the apel at the South Jakarta Transportation Office, he saw the incident and immediately went down to help handle it on the ground.
"I saw a series of collisions, then I immediately got out. I saw several victims fall and at that time I also helped manage traffic. I then contacted the Head of the South Jakarta Transportation Division because the location of the incident was only about 200 to 300 meters from the apple," Budi told reporters, Monday, July 20.
In addition to deploying Dishub officers, Budi also asked for the assistance of the DKI Jakarta Health Service so that ambulances could be immediately deployed to the scene.
"Alhamdulillah, ambulances from the Pancoran District Health Center were immediately sent to the location to help evacuate the victims," said Budi.
Based on the provisional suspicion, the accident began when the vehicle in front stopped suddenly. A number of motorbikes fell, while the box car behind did not have time to brake until it hit the vehicle in front.
"In front of him there was a vehicle that stopped suddenly, then several motorbikes fell. The box car behind him didn't have time to brake so it hit the vehicles," explained Budi.
As a result of the accident, four people were victims, consisting of one man and three women. Three victims suffered minor injuries, while one female victim suffered moderate injuries after her left leg was dragged by the vehicle.

The evacuation process was carried out by officers from the South Jakarta Transportation Service together with personnel from the National Police and residents. Two victims who suffered minor injuries were taken to the nearest clinic using a police vehicle, while the victim with more serious injuries was evacuated using a stretcher before being taken by ambulance to the hospital.
