Telkom University and Kaspersky Hold HackNusa, Invite Young People to Develop Cyber Security Solutions

JAKARTA - Telkom University and Kaspersky present HackNusa - From Ideas to Impact, a national cybersecurity hackathon to produce future innovators in the face of Indonesia's increasingly complex digital threat landscape.

Registration for this competition has officially opened and will last until August 21, 2026. At its peak, the 30 best teams selected will be invited to attend the final face-to-face round at Telkom University campus, Bandung, on October 3, 2026.

Head of Kaspersky Academy, Evgeniya Russkikh said that this event will be a platform for brilliant technology thinkers to test their skills and knowledge and solve real-world challenges in the field of cybersecurity and digital trust.

"Through our collaboration with Telkom University, one of the leading institutions in Indonesia, we aim to nurture Indonesia's growing talent and create a challenging yet conducive learning environment to create solutions that can shape our future," said Russkikh.

HackNusa challenges participants to turn innovative ideas into impactful cybersecurity solutions through three competition tracks designed around today's most pressing digital challenges:

Secure Digital Payments & Fintech. Building a safer and smarter way for people to make payments and manage money in a rapidly evolving digital economy. AI vs AI: Cyber Defense. Designing intelligent systems that leverage AI to detect, prevent, and respond to increasingly sophisticated cyber threats. Human-Centred Security. Creating cyber security solutions that are intuitive, accessible, and easy to understand and use by people.

The Dean of the Faculty of Informatics at Telkom University, Kemas Muslim Lhaksamana, revealed that this initiative is in line with the vision of his institution in advancing cybersecurity and AI research.

"For this purpose, HackNusa is an important milestone in empowering the next generation of Indonesian innovators to address real-world digital threats," concluded Kemas.
