Nemangkawi Task Force Arrests KKB Member Guspi Waker, Here's A Row Of Crimes
TIMIKA - The Nemangkawi Operation Law Enforcement Task Force arrested MT member of the Armed Criminal Group (KKB) Guspi Waker.
Mimika Police Chief AKBP IGG Era Adhinata said MT was arrested on Jalan A Yani, Koperapoka Village, Timika on Thursday, June 10 evening.
MT has long been a fugitive from the police and is on the Mimika Police's wanted list (DPO).
He is known to have been involved in a series of crimes in the Tembagapura District and its surroundings since 2017.
"MT's arrest went through a long process of investigation. Brother MT came down to Timika when a bus group descended on Timika from Tembagapura. He was known to be in the Kwamki Narama District. After being followed by the person concerned using an Avanza car, our members intercepted and then managed to secure the person concerned is on Jalan A Yani," said Era Ahinata.
When interrogated by the police, MT admitted that he was a member of the KKB in the Ugimba area, Intan Jaya Regency. The KKB in the area is led by Guspi Waker.
MT was actively involved in becoming a member of the KKB at the invitation of Nua Waker in 2017.
Since then, MT has been involved in various acts of violence and crime with his group in the Tembagapura District.
Several crimes involving MT were the burning of a kiosk behind the Tembagapura Police dormitory on 7 November 2017, burning excavator heavy equipment in Utikini Village, Tembagapura District on 7 November 2017.
MT also shot the Tembagapura Police Station on 7 November 2017, shooting a convoy of PT Freeport Indonesia trailer trucks from Mile 58 to Mile 61 on April 11, 2020.
Furthermore, on March 8, 2020, MT shot PJJ's car and was involved in a shootout with officers in Utikini Village, Tembagapura District. Based on the report from LP/11/III/2020/p/rm/Sek Tembagapura on March 10, 2020, the shootout resulted in Bripka Jamil sustaining a scratch on his right wrist due to a projectile.
The suspect MT is known to be quite active on social media by uploading information every time he takes action.
The Mimika Police Chief added that his staff will continue to monitor and investigate the possibility that other DPOs have been detected in the Mimika Regency area.
