Order The Kapolda-Kapolres To Fight Thugs, National Police Chief: If I Don't Take Action, I Will Warn
JAKARTA - The National Police Chief General Listyo Sigit Prabowo emphasized that he would give a warning to the Regional Police Chief and the Resort Police Chief who have not taken action against thuggery acts in their respective regions.
The National Police Chief issued instructions to all his staff in the region to take action against thuggery and other criminals that disturb the public. This thuggery became the attention of President Joko Widodo (Jokowi).
"If I haven't taken action, I as the National Police Chief will be reprimanded, this is also part of the Harkamtbmas program in the Precision program which must be followed up by all members and ranks in the field," said General Sigit in a written statement, Friday, June 11.
The National Police Chief stressed that the order to eradicate thugs would be followed up by the Head of the Criminal Investigation Unit of the National Police, Komjen Agus Andrianto and the Kapolda to move quickly to take firm actions against the perpetrators of the crime.
"All Polda and Kabareskrim must respond quickly and take steps if there are complaints from the public regarding criminal disturbances carried out by thugs, criminals and extortionists and other conventional criminals to be eradicated immediately," said the Chief of Police.
Sigit ensured that he would directly monitor all staff regarding the eradication of criminals or thuggery.
"I will follow developments in the field whether it has been implemented properly or not," said Sigit.
In addition, the National Police Chief invites the public to take advantage of the Dumas Presisi application and the Hotline 110 service if they receive disturbing treatment from community elements.
"To create a sense of security and calm for the community, there are already applications 110 and Dumas Presisi, if there are people who experience disturbances related to Kamtibmas and crime, they can call this number so that members in the field can immediately respond to them," said Sigit.
The National Police Chief also said that his staff must also release the results of their action against thuggery. The goal is to create a deterrent effect and provide a sense of security to the community.
