Sambi Becomes A Marijuana Courier, A Vocational School Student In Bengkulu Arrested By The Police

JAKARTA - Rejang Lebong Resort Police (Polres) officers, Bengkulu, have arrested a vocational high school student for allegedly being a courier for marijuana distribution.

Head of the Narcotics Unit, Iptu Susilo, said that the student with the initials MA (16), a resident of Talang Ulu Village, East Curup District, who is a class X student of one of the state vocational schools in Rejang Lebong, was arrested on Friday, June 11 at around 00.30 WIB.

"From the hands of this perpetrator, we secured one package of marijuana-type narcotics, then we carried out development with a TKP in Talang Rimbo Baru Village, we managed to secure evidence of more than 1 kg of marijuana-type narcotics in the form of one large package and 15 small packages, papir paper, bongs, and plastic clips," he said at the Rejang Lebong Police Headquarters, reported by Antara, Friday, June 11.

He added that in the development carried out, the owner of the goods with the initials DD, a resident of Talang Rimbo Baru Village, Central Curup District, had fled and is still searching for officers in the field.

"The perpetrator that we have secured acts as a courier, he will only deliver the marijuana type narcotics to consumers, then we will intercept and find evidence in the form of marijuana," he explained.

He said that so far the perpetrators of the Supreme Court are still under investigation by investigating officers, where based on the recognition that marijuana types are marketed to consumers, most of whom are students in this area.

The existence of students involved in the distribution and abuse of narcotics in the area, he said, has invited concern and appealed to parents to supervise their children so that they do not get caught in narcotics.

"Satnakorba Polres Rejang Lebong in addition to carrying out eradication efforts are also carrying out prevention efforts. We are coordinating with related parties to conduct socialization and prevention of narcotics abuse," he explained.
