Attorney General's Office Holds Don Ritto After Being Handled by the Police

JAKARTA - The suspect in the alleged money laundering case (TPPU) in the legal handling process by the state organizer in the PT Asabri case for the period 2020-2024, Don Ritto (DR), was detained by the Attorney General's Office (Kejagung) after being handed over from the Police.

Don Ritto arrived at the Jampidsus Kejagung building, Jakarta, at 14.16 WIB wearing an orange police detention uniform.

The suspect was then escorted by the prosecutor's office into the building.

About two hours later, Don Ritto came out of the building wearing a pink vest reserved for Kejagung prisoners. He was immediately escorted to the prisoner car.

Don Ritto's lawyer, Handika Hanggowongso, said his client would be detained at the Kejagung Detention Center.

"What shocked us, our client, Mr. Don, was immediately detained at the C7 Detention Center of the Attorney General's Office of the Republic of Indonesia," he said as quoted by ANTARA.

He revealed that the detention was based on the same suspicion as that suspected by the Polda Metro Jaya, namely related to the handling of the PT Asabri Tan Kian cluster case.

The National Police handed over the suspect Don Ritto and a number of evidence to the Attorney General's Office regarding three cases of alleged corruption and TPPU.

The three cases are the alleged corruption and TPPU cases, the legal handling process by the state organizer in the PT Asabri case, the alleged corruption case in coal governance in the period 2018-2026, and the alleged corruption and TPPU case in the settlement of PT CBS's debt to PT KNI,

Deputy Head of the National Police's Anti-Corruption Crime Eradication Corps (Kortastipidkor) Brigjen Pol. Boro Windu said the submission of the case was a continuation of the handling of the case.

"Today, the process continues with the implementation of the transfer of suspects, electronic evidence, and non-electronic evidence to the Attorney General's Office as part of the stages of handling the case," he said.

According to Boro, after the handover, the next investigation process is entirely the responsibility of the Attorney General's Office.
