Alleged Rolling Envelope Case, KAMAKSI Warns Raja Juli Antoni about the Nickname 'First Envelope Minister'
JAKARTA - The case of the provision of an envelope by the Regent of Kuantan Singingi (Kuansing) Suhardiman to the Minister of Forestry Raja Juli Antoni has been confirmed to be investigated by the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK). This is still being done even though the process of handling the report of rejection of gratification submitted by Raja Juli at the Directorate of Gratification and Public Services has been declared complete. KPK spokesperson Budi Prasetyo said that the handling of the gratification report and the investigation process are two different paths. "The report of gratification by Raja Juli has been completed, while the alleged criminal act is still being investigated as part of the development of the investigation of the alleged bribery of positions and gratification in the environment of the Regency Government (Pemkab) Kuansing." said Budi Prasetyo when contacted, Friday, July 17.
Budi explained that investigators were still tracing the alleged collection of money by Suhardiman from members of the Village Unit Cooperative (KUD) who were then allegedly given to Raja Juli. "In the construction of the case, the Regent, after collecting money from the parties, then gave this money to the Minister. Well, this will certainly be investigated by the investigators," he said. The head of KAMAKSI said he very much appreciated the firmness of the KPK and hoped that the image of the first envelope minister would not fall into the hands of Raja Juli Antoni who is also a politician from the Indonesian Solidarity Party (PSI). "We know that PSI has many Buzzers and is ready to fight to maintain the image of its representatives in the cabinet. So I say don't let the title of the First Envelope Minister fall into Raja Juli Antoni because the buzzer doesn't work!," he said.
