Polda Metro Jaya Pastikan 74 Kg Emas dan Uang Dolar terkait Kasus Eks Jampidsus Asli
JAKARTA - Polda Metro Jaya has confirmed that the evidence in the form of gold and foreign currency fragments that were handed over to the Attorney General's Office (Kejagung) is authentic based on the results of laboratory tests from various official financial authorities.
Head of Public Relations of the Metro Jaya Police, Kombes Budi Hermanto, said the process of verifying the authenticity of the evidence was carried out by involving authorized institutions, both domestic and international, to ensure the validity of the evidence before it was handed over to the Attorney General's Office.
"The point is, the gold is genuine, from the results of the test by Pegadaian. Then, the US dollar is also from the United States Secret Service and the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) stating that there is a letter, genuine, original. Then, the rupiah from BI is also genuine," said Budi as reported by ANTARA, Friday, July 17.
Meanwhile, for evidence in the form of Singapore dollars (SGD), Budi explained that his party was still waiting for an official confirmation letter from the relevant financial authorities. However, in general, all the evidence has been confirmed to be authentic.
Regarding the involvement of the United States federal agencies, namely FBIdan the United States Secret Service, Budi emphasized that this is a standard procedure to check the validity of foreign currencies.
"Yes, they are the ones who have the authority for testing related to the exchange rate of the United States dollar," said Budi.
Budi said the process of handing over evidence and suspects was scheduled to take place at the Attorney General's Office building, Jakarta.
"Later, the official release related to the details of the case and the submission of evidence will be carried out jointly by the police together with the Head of the Legal Information Center (Kapuspenkum) of the Attorney General's Office and the Acting Deputy Attorney General for Special Crimes (Plt. Jampidsus)," said Budi.
On the other hand, regarding the alleged existence of other assets stored abroad, Budi was reluctant to provide further details and said that this was part of the investigation material which has now been transferred to the prosecutor's office.
"Yes, it will be a process of searching for assets, but this has already been handed over, it will be asked to the Prosecutor's Office," said Budi.
Previously, joint investigators from the police and the Attorney General's Office (Kejagung) tested the authenticity and level of 74 gold bars in a search related to the investigation of alleged cases of criminal corruption, bribery, gratification, and money laundering (TPPU).
Head of Public Relations of the Metro Jaya Police, Kombes Pol Budi Hermanto, said the testing process involved the PT Pegadaian laboratory. This testing stage is also part of the process of completeness and transfer of evidence in the case following the investigation by the Attorney General's Office.
"Today, investigators from the joint investigation with investigators from the Attorney General's Office and Pegadaian will conduct a test related to gold evidence of 74 pieces or equivalent to 74 kilograms," said Budi in Jakarta, Monday (13/7).
