Skateboard Aims for Three Medals at the 2026 Asian Games

JAKARTA - The skateboard sports branch (cabor) targets to bring home three medals consisting of one gold medal, one silver medal, and one bronze medal from the 2026 Asian Games.

The target was conveyed by Anthony Adam Caya as a coach on the sidelines of the first visit made by the Chef de Mission (CdM) of the Indonesian team, Todotua Pasaribu, to the training center which took place in Bali on Thursday, July 16, 2026.

"Our target is one gold medal, one silver medal, and one bronze medal," he said in an official statement received by the media from the Indonesian Olympic Committee (NOC Indonesia).

The total skateboard team has lowered eight athletes to participate in the four-year multi-sport event of Asian countries. Some of the names that have been prepared are Sanggoe Darma Tanjung, Mikhayla Shanum Caya, Basral Graito, I Wayan Ni Wayan Malana Fairbrother, and Jason Dennis Lijnzaat.

Basral who won the gold medal in the 2025 SEA Games in Thailand is projected to win gold in Japan, Jason who competed in the park category is targeted to secure a silver medal, and Malana is expected to win a bronze medal.

"We are quite confident, God willing, our Basral predicts gold, Malana bronze, and Jason in the park category for silver," said Anthony.

Of the eight athletes who are being prepared for the 2026 Asian Games, four of them will compete in the women's and men's street events and the remaining four will compete in the women's and men's park events. Each of the women's and men's events is represented by two athletes.

In addition to visiting the skateboard, Todotua also visited the training center for the athletics and surfing sports. This review was carried out to directly monitor the physical condition, facilities, and technical developments of the athletes on the field before competing in the largest sports event in Asia.

"We are here to ensure that our athletes can compete to the fullest at the Asian Games," said Todotua.

The 2026 Asian Games are scheduled to take place from September 19 to October 4, 2026. Indonesia will send approximately 420 from 32 sports with the target of being able to get four gold medals.
