Piche City Demands Compensation after Judge Dismissed the Status of Suspect in the Rudapaksa Case

JAKARTA - The Piche City legal team does not stay silent over the material and immaterial losses suffered by its client due to legal procedures. The Piche party plans to file a claim for compensation against the institution that appointed him as a suspect in the case of the alleged rape of a high school student (ACT) in Belu Regency, NTT some time ago.

"Of course we will take further legal steps, namely we will sue for compensation against the institution that handles this case," said Piche's lawyer, Cosmas Jo Oko via Zoom, Thursday, July 16.

Cosmas explained that the basis of this lawsuit was the judge's decision which stated that

the determination of the suspect against Piche is null and void.

"The good name of the family, the good name of our client Piche Kota has been affected. The judge considers the designation of Piche Kota as a suspect to be invalid," he said.

Currently, the legal team is collecting data related to work contracts that were interrupted due to the case.

"We are preparing the data because we must communicate with other parties or institutions that have previously made work contracts with Piche," explained Cosmas.

Regarding the amount of losses, Cosmas said there were two aspects that were the main concern of the legal team.

"If it concerns intangible losses, it is clear, yes, it cannot be calculated. But regarding this material, we must collect the data so that it completes the lawsuit," he said.

The lawyer's party has not been able to confirm when the lawsuit will be officially registered with the court.

"For certainty, we can't clarify it at this time because we need time to prepare it well," added Cosmas.

The large number of cancellations of cooperation from various brands is one of the main points in calculating material losses.

"The status of the suspect, Piche yesterday, is automatically a loss, maybe from the brand or Piche himself," said Cosmas.

Although focused on the lawsuit plan, the legal team is currently prioritizing Piche's assistance in the witness trial process.

"Currently we are focusing on assisting our client Piche in the trial, so we are focusing on finishing this first," he said.

The determination of a suspect who was considered premature by the judge became the main weapon for Piche's party in seeking justice.

"Our client must be released for the sake of the law in accordance with the provisions of the Criminal Procedure Code because the investigators have not been able to complete the evidence," said Cosmas again.

This lawsuit is expected to be a lesson so that legal procedures in the future are carried out more carefully.

"We just want to straighten out the information and demand what is the right of our client after his good name is tarnished by this defective procedure," concluded Cosmas.
