Indonesia vs Cambodia in the First Match of the SEA V Cup 2026, Deep Analysis Fruit

JAKARTA - The Indonesian Men's Volleyball National Team (National Team) managed to achieve a perfect result in the first match of the 2026 SEA V Cup against Cambodia.

The Garuda squad defeated the opponent with a score of 3-0 (25-18, 25-18, and 25-21) at the Candon City Arena, Philippines on Thursday, July 16, 2026. The result increased the chances of Farhan Halim and his friends to advance to the semifinals.

Assistant coach of the Indonesian Men's Volleyball Team, Nur Widayanto, said that the match against the opponent had been studied since the morning before the match took place. The coach's team analysis of the opponent's game also yielded results.

"We saw that their ball reception, especially the number 9 player, was not very good. Therefore, the service was directed to him and we got many points," said Nur in an official statement received.

The instruction was able to suppress the opponent's game from the beginning of the match. Hendra Kurniawan and Farhan Halim were two players who contributed a lot of points through service.

The pressure built through the service made Cambodia also difficult to build an attack in the first two sets.

The Cambodian resistance then began to increase in the third set. In that phase, the Indonesian game lost rhythm and followed the opponent's pattern, so it was behind in the number of points.

The deadlock made the coaching team then make an evaluation during the second technical break. The players were asked to return to apply their own game patterns and not be carried away by Cambodia's tempo.

Player substitutions were also made to change the course of the match. Rama and Dio were inserted to replace Alfin and Nibras in the feeder and opposite positions.

"We rotated by including Rama and Dio. The change went well because Indonesia won points for points until winning the third set," said Nur.

Indonesia will play the second match against the host Philippines on Friday, July 17, 2026, at 16.30 WIB. The match is expected to be tighter because the Philippines has direct support from the host audience.

In addition to supporting factors, the Philippines has a longer recovery time before meeting Indonesia. This condition makes the Garuda Squad need to maintain fitness after the match against Cambodia.

A total of six countries participated in the 2026 SEA V Cup and were divided into two groups. Each team played two matches in the qualifying phase to determine the standings position.

The two best-placed teams from each group will continue their journey to the semi-finals. Meanwhile, the two teams that finish at the bottom of the standings will compete for fifth place.
