Dedi Mulyadi reminds parents about Gawai addiction in children, threatening health

BANDUNG - West Java Governor Dedi Mulyadi warns parents that the habit of children being allowed to play gadgets for too long is now a serious health threat that triggers chronic diseases in adults, such as kidney failure and diabetes.

The heartbreaking phenomenon, which Dedi, who is familiarly called KDM, considers, occurs due to high screen time radiation which makes children's bodies less active, so that all the nutrients and nutrients that enter the body accumulate and fail to be converted into energy.

"The future threat is not only malnutrition, but nutrition and nutrition that is not managed into energy," said Dedi in a statement in Bandung, Thursday (16/7).

Dedi explained that in addition to damaging internal organs and triggering degenerative diseases early on, the lack of physical activity due to gadget addiction psychologically also makes the child's emotional and aggressiveness levels very high.

Responding to the threat, the West Java Provincial Government urged parents to limit the duration of the gadget, increase outdoor activities that train children's motor skills, and tighten supervision of daily consumption intake to avoid instant foods and drinks that are high in sugar.

On the other hand, Dedi Mulyadi emphasized that the state must be present to guarantee the quality of life of its citizens from the womb. For this reason, the West Java Provincial Government is now finalizing a revolutionary regulation regarding nutritional fulfillment intervention for pregnant women in West Java.

"When the pregnant person has a problem, he can go to the store, minimarket or anywhere to pick up the food consumed during pregnancy. This is being formulated because it is the responsibility of the state," said Dedi as quoted by Antara.

He added that ensuring the fulfillment of human material aspects ranging from the availability of nutritious food, quality drinking water, to the right to breathe clean air is a constitutional obligation that will continue to be periodically monitored by the local government.

"All countries must be responsible for that. Pay attention to the material aspect of human development at all times," he added.
