Bahlil ensures that the profit replacement rights of the community around the Masela project are fulfilled

SAUMLAKI - Energy and Mineral Resources Minister (ESDM) Bahlil Lahadalia ensures that the rights of people affected by the construction of the Abadi Masela LNG project in Tanimbar are fulfilled.

Bahlil said that later the community around this national strategic project will receive compensation in a decent amount.

"We want this large project to be carried out without forgetting the rights of the people who were born on the Tanimbar Islands. Even though the land used is forest land, they have been farming for generations," said Bahlil at the groundbreaking ceremony for the Abadi Field PSN of the Masela Block in Saumlaki, Thursday, July 16.

Bahlil explained that although the land used in this project is a forest area, the surrounding community has managed the land since time immemorial.

According to him, this is quite different from the principle of community ownership in general which must have a land ownership certificate.

"The certificate, there was no certificate before, it's different from Java. That's why I ask the Minister of Land to help as well, so that they know local wisdom," explained Bahlil.

Bahlil said that investment should not only bring profit but also contribute to the welfare of the community.

Thus, he continued, his party divided the compensation for profit into three parts.

First, the profit will be given to the community who have managed the land for generations.

Second, the land managed by the residents is then sold to other parties. Finally, profit sharing for the community who sold the land when the Masela project was just being worked on.

Later, the government will provide compensation by calculating the number of production plants that grow on land that will be converted into the Masela LNG project.

The development plan for the Abadi Field includes underwater or subsea facilities, including subsea wellheads, drilling centers, Subsea Umbilicals Risers and Flowlines (SURF), CO2 injection well, and SURF for CCS facilities), Floating Production Storage and Offloading (FPSO) facilities, Gas Export Pipeline (GEP) and CO2 pipeline, and Onshore LNG (OLNG) plant including Onshore CCS facility located on Yamdena Island, Tanimbar Islands Regency (KKT).

The FPSO has 2 gas processing facilities to send dry gas to the OLNG processing facility via GEP, where the OLNG production capacity is around 9.5 MTPA consisting of 2 trains with a capacity of 4.75 MTPA and 150 MMSCFD of gas pipelines for local industrial needs.

CO2 from the Acid Gas Removal Unit (AGRU) of the LNG train is dehydrated and compressed.

Then the CO2 is sent to the injection well in the Abadi Field through the CCS Pipeline which is installed in parallel with the GEP.
