Already Know COVID-19 But Help Wash The Dishes. Celebration, Now 16 People In Gunungkidul Are Exposed

GUNUNGKIDUL - A total of 16 residents of Girisekar Village, Gunungkidul Regency, Yogyakarta Special Region, were exposed to COVID-19. This cluster occurs during a celebration.

The head of Girisekar Village, Panggang District, Sutarpan said that the celebration cluster started when a resident who worked as a construction worker outside the city came home with symptoms of cough and cold. "At that time, the person concerned checked himself at a clinic in Panggang District. "The person who was traveling was tested for antigen and was tested positive for COVID-19. However, the person concerned continues to help residents who hold a celebration as a dishwasher. Those traveling are dishonest, causing people to be exposed to COVID-19," said Sutarpan, quoted by Antara, Friday, June 11.

He said the person had his health checked back at the hospital. But the person concerned did not admit that he was exposed to COVID-19;

"After returning home, he informed the community that he was sick with typhoid. In addition, the person concerned continued to help his neighbor who was having a celebration," he said.

Sutarpan said the case was revealed when the medical officer informed the residents and the village government that he was confirmed positive. The officers immediately carried out tracking by carrying out a PCR swab test and a quick antigen test, and there were 16 people who were confirmed positive for the celebration.

"Currently there are 45 residents who are waiting for the results of the swab test and they are self-isolating. Of the 16 positive people, two have been hospitalized. The rest are self-isolating," he said.

Previously, the Head of the Gunungkidul Health Service, Dewi Irawaty, said that in the last few weeks in Gunungkidul, several clusters had emerged which led to the high addition of daily confirmed cases of COVID-19.

The clusters that emerged in Gunungkidul were the Bandung bag factory cluster, the dengok cluster, the Panggang celebration cluster, and the Islamic boarding school cluster.

"We hope that people adhere to health protocols well, namely wearing masks, maintaining distance, and washing hands," he said.
