Once Called a Witness, the Attorney General's Office Straightens the Status of Febrie Adriansyah as a Suspect

JAKARTA - The Attorney General's Office stated that former Jampidsus Febrie Adriansyah and DR, private parties, remain suspects in the alleged corruption case, even though the handling of the case was transferred from the National Police to the Attorney General's Office.

"Yes, FA and D are still suspects as determined by the National Police investigators," said Head of the Legal Information Center of the Attorney General's Office, Anang Supriatna, quoted by ANTARA, Thursday, July 16.

He explained that although the Attorney General's Office issued a new investigation order (sprindik) for the corruption case that dragged FA and DR, it did not cancel the status of the two as suspects as previously determined by the National Police.

The Attorney General's Office has issued three sprindik for three cases of alleged corruption involving the name of former Deputy Attorney General for Special Crimes (Jampidsus) Febrie Adriansyah (FA).

First, sprindik number 43 for the alleged case of corruption and money laundering (TPPU) of PT Krakatau.

Second, sprindik number 44 for the alleged case of corruption in coal management at the power plant which is suspected to have triggered the blackout.

Finally, the sprindik number 45 is related to the alleged corruption case of PT Asabri and PT Jiwasraya for the period 2020-2025.

Anang said the issuance of this sprindik was a follow-up to the Attorney General's Office after the investigation of the three cases was transferred from the National Police, in this case the National Police's Anti-Corruption Crime Eradication Corps (Kortastipidkor) and the Metro Jaya Police.

"Since the issuance of the sprindik, all activities and actions that are pro-justice have been transferred to the prosecutor's investigators," he said.
